After a long period of development Evad Developments are announcing their single seater racing car. With a 72 inch wheelbase the car complies with the new R.A.C. Formula IV regulations and also with the R.A.C. vehicle regulations for hillclimbs and sprints.
The car features a fully triangulated space frame with extra bracing around the cockpit. A stressed a1luminium undertray, with g1ass fibre body panels complete the car. A padded g1ass fibre moulded rec1ining seat fitted, and with pedal adjustment of 8 inches and and adjustable steering column, a suitab1e driving position for most drivers can be found.
The all independent suspension, controlled by Amstrong spring damper units, follows modern practice and is fully adjustable, enabling the handling characteristics to be altered easily. Dunlop racing tyres on wide rim alloy 10" wheels are fitted. Steering is by rack and pinion via an 11" diameter hide covered steering wheel.
7" hydraulic brakes are operated by twin master cy1inders, with alloy brake drums.
The Show car is fitted with a new 250 c.c. rotary valve engine, mounted in dural engine plates, final drive being by chain to a quick change rear axle sprocket, and then by fixed length drive shafts and rubber doughnut joints.
Also on show will be a 650 c.c. twin engine for installation in Class 2 cars.
Development is finalised for a Hillman Imp engined car for Class 3.
EVAD Developments a1so undertake to design and manufacture space frame chassis for all purposes, either as single units or for quantity production.
