So third overall in category 1 was the Hillman Imp of Geoff Taylor/ Steve Greenhill. "We had no clutch in Gwibedog but it had been great until then. The rear suspension legs cracked too in Halfway, so we will have to look after it," said Taylor.

Category 1; in class B1, another round of the Imp battle is likely as Gary and Jane Edgington pit their Singer Chamois against the Hillman Imp Sport of Geoff Taylor and Steve Greenhill. The Edgington husband and wife crew took a famous last stage win on the Bulldog, but retired with engine dramas in Kielder.

The 2nd round of the Dunlop/ Gambia MSA British Historic Rally Championship will pit another fine field of historic rally cars against the challenge of Kielder on the Pirelli Historic Rally (Friday/Saturday 17/18 April).
Category 1 (pre '68): One of the best battles on the Bulldog Rally was for class B1 as Gary and Jane Edgington (Singer Chamois) beat Steve Taylor and Steve Greenhill (Hillman Imp Sport) in a great final stage contest.
Geoff Taylor & Mick Briggs - Rallye Bristowe - 1st overall - Sunbeam Imp Sport (Road)
Geoff Taylor & Peter Joy came 3rd overall in the 1993 Channon Dorset classic rally in their Sunbeam Imp Sport (Road). They won the Historic Rally Car Register Championship of 1994 outright.
N. Barnett, another Imper, won the class. (Taylor/Joy weren't elligible for a class award as they won the championship).
