Hiya
Been lurking and reading for a while, so here's a few ideas for comment:
I've recently heard about someone who had an 1150cc Imp in the sixties.
I've never heard of anything over 1080's before, so has anyone got any info on larger engine sizes. Also, does anyone know if there's a way of making a V8 out of 2 imp engines. I read about a bike in a Yorkshire show that had such an engine, and I know that Coventry made F1 racing V8 late fifties, early sixties.
Also, does anyone want a Singer Chamois Saloon, 1967, restorable. It's complete, the engine was running about a year ago, it'd need a respray to look nice and maybe some welding for an MoT, but the floor's pretty sound. It's in Kent, South East England, and is free to anyone who wants it. At the moment it's got twin Stromberg 125's and RoStyle 13" wheels with 185/60's on which I'd either want to take off or get money for (the tyres are probably shot!)

Well i know of an Imp V 8 engine , i have seen it in the metal , it is made from two MK I blocks welded at 90 ° to each other , one head is reversed with the camchain end cut off and welded to the rear of the head . It was made some time in mid 60's ..
it has a very short stroke, indeed: possibly 35 mm ...; heads are standard .
a friend, Neil Lewis, had a picture of it in IMPRESSIONS about a year ago ..

Hi All,
One of the York area centre impers is a very serious autograsser with the Yorkshire Dales autograss club, Roger Gill: He has just put together an 1120cc. Basically it involved a special crank, a head spacer and a block strengthening kit (there is a lot more to it than that no doubt).... He has only just put it together, but I've heard that he is getting 110bhp at the wheels.... So all the mini's better watch out. (I believe that in his class he is now up against the likes of 1400cc mini's, so now desperately needs more power to stay competetive).
Paul.
